Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Dominic Goh, the new Singaporean Ambassador to Egypt.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Grand Imam congratulated the Singaporean Ambassador on his new diplomatic mission, expressing his most sincere wishes for a successful tenure in Egypt.

HE explained that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif is keen to continue cooperation with Singapore in all cultural, scientific and religious fields, and extend this cooperation to the field of training imams to deal with contemporary issues and problems, such as extremism and terrorism.

The Singaporean Ambassador expressed his country's pride in the strong relations between Al-Azhar and the Islamic institutions in Singapore, adding that Al-Azhar graduates play a great role in disseminating the correct Islamic culture and immunizing the Singaporean society against the problems of extremism and terrorism.
