Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Members of the Executive Committee of the Egyptian Council of Churches, headed by Father Rafik Greish.

The Grand Imam said that the ship of humanity is sinking in a sea of wars and destruction caused by international conflicts, pointing out that the leaders of religions bear a great responsibility before God and humanity to save people from the mistakes of modern Western civilizations.

His Eminence added that the Human Fraternity Document has presented to the world a unique model of coexistence among members of the human race, regardless of their gender, color or belief. HE pointed out the importance of activating the provisions of the Human Fraternity Document, through communication with young people in all parts of Egypt to emphasize the importance of these noble values in preserving the national fabric.

The members of the Executive Committee of the Egyptian Council of Churches, for their part, expressed their pleasure at meeting His Eminence, as he is a national icon for all Egyptians, and a model for peace and coexistence, expressing their readiness for cooperation to establish the principles approved by the Human Fraternity Document.
