Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Chief Justice of Palestine, during his visit to Cairo.

The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif has a firm stance towards the Palestinian cause, defending it with all our might on ground and in international forums. HE called on peace-loving countries to support a just solution to the Palestinian cause, and to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque from the repeated attacks.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash briefed His Eminence the Grand Imam on the developments of the humanitarian situation in Palestine, especially the situation in the occupied city of Jerusalem. He pointed out the need for a unified Arab position towards what is happening to the Palestinian people in general and the occupied city of Jerusalem in particular. He added that the Grand Imam, who supports the Palestinian cause, has a great influence among leaders and heads of state.
