Foreign graduates ambassadors of Al-Azhar moderate approach to their societies, Grand Imam to Indonesian WOAG Head
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Dr. Muhammad Zain Al-Majd, Head of the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates (WOAG), Indonesian branch.
The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif is counting on its foreign graduates to be ambassadors of its moderate approach in their own societies. He pointed out that some of the graduates held high-level positions in their countries, and contributed strongly to the development and advancement of their countries, and worked to promote the values of tolerance and coexistence that they learned at Al-Azhar.
The Head of the WOAG branch in Indonesia expressed his great appreciation for the educational and missionary efforts provided by Al-Azhar to Indonesian students. He stressed the commitment of all Indonesian graduates of Al-Azhar to its moderate curricula, as a real guarantee to protect the Indonesian society from extremist ideas.
At the end of the meeting, His Eminence the Grand Imam presented the WOAG shield to Dr. Muhammad Zain Al-Majd, in appreciation of his tangible efforts and activities at the WOAG’s branch in Indonesia.
