Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Mokhtar Omar, Senior Adviser to the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

At the beginning of the meeting, His Eminence welcomed Ambassador Mokhtar Omar, expressing his appreciation of the great role played by the Union in achieving the values of peace, human rights, youth empowerment and sustainable development through dialogue, cooperation and parliamentary action.

Ambassador Mokhtar Omar, for his part, expressed his appreciation for Al-Azhar’s leading role in promoting the values of coexistence, and the wise vision of the Grand Imam to promote a culture of tolerance among different countries and peoples. He expressed the willingness of the Inter-Parliamentary Union for cooperation in instilling and establishing the lofty principles approved by the Human Fraternity Document.
