Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Makram Muhammad Ahmad, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation.

The Grand Imam said that work at Al-Azhar continues to investigate all contemporary topics and issues with the aim of addressing them in line with the moderate Azhari approach and the tolerance of the Islamic religion. These issues include women’s issues, terrorism, and other emerging issues. He stressed that Al-Azhar is working in full swing with the aim of developing effective solutions to these urgent issues and others.

For his part, the Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation praised Al-Azhar efforts to confront the extremist ideas and renew religious discourse, being the most trusted Islamic authority in the world. He praised Al-Azhar’s way of dealing with many new and contemporary issues, and removing any confusion related to them in order to refute the toxic ideas that extremist groups are trying to instil among young people.
