Guarding the youth against extremist ideas is Al-Azhar top priority, the Grand Imam
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of Emigrations and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Abroad.
The Grand Imam said that supporting the society and protecting young people from deviant and extremist ideas is a top priority for Al-Azhar. He pointed out the importance of benefiting from their energies and capabilities in serving and advancing the country. He said that Egypt’s youth have proven their competence and superiority inside and outside Egypt, as well as their ability to innovate in various fields. He emphasized the importance of consolidating the unity of society, evoking the spirit of brotherhood, and rejecting any practices unfamiliar to society.
Ambassador Nabila Makram, for her part, confirmed that Al-Azhar enjoys approval at home and abroad, and that the ministry is always working to benefit from its expertise and long history of supporting the national fabric, enhancing noble values and immunizing the society against deviant ideas. She noted that the Ministry launched many initiatives to protect the society internally and to communicate with the Egyptians abroad.
