At Al-Azhar headquarters, Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received a delegation of French bishops responsible for reviving the path of the Holy Family.

The Grand Imam said that the Egyptians ought to be proud of the journey of the Holy Family and Virgin Mary; this journey prompts many people to come to Egypt to learn about its historical details. He stressed that Egypt has always been a blessed land, visited by Prophets and Messengers such as Jesus, Moses, Abraham, may the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon them and upon our Prophet as well.

His Eminence said, "The Human Fraternity Document (HFD) that my brother Pope Francis and I cosigned, being the fruit of a whole year of tireless work and sincere effort between Al-Azhar and the Vatican, is a safe way out for human problems in the East and the West."

He added that the formation of a higher committee working to achieve the objectives of this document and to put its terms into practice is a significant positive step in the field of human fraternity.

While meeting the Grand Imam, the members of the delegation, for their part, expressed their great pleasure and their appreciation of the Grand Imam’s efforts for the sake of humanity and consolidating the culture of dialogue and coexistence. They stressed that the world would reap the good fruits of openness and achieve good relationship between the two largest religious institutions, Al-Azhar and the Vatican. This will benefit the believers everywhere.
