We are keen to support Pakistan with moderate Azhari approach, says the Grand Imam
Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, received Ambassador Tariq Dahrouj, the new Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan, at Al-Azhar headquarters. His Eminence welcomed the Ambassador wishing him further success in his new mission.
The Grand Imam said that he had spent a good time as the Dean of the Faculty of Usuluddin (Theology) at the Islamic University of Pakistan, and this has had a great impact on getting to know the Pakistani society. He stressed Al-Azhar’s keenness to support Pakistan with its curriculum, train Pakistani imams, and its willingness to provide Pakistan with all types of academic support.
The new Egyptian ambassador to Pakistan, for his part, expressed his interest and keenness to benefit from Al-Azhar’s message and efforts in the countries of the Muslim world, especially Pakistan, in order to perform his duties as Ambassador in a manner befitting Egypt’s stature and to help disseminate Al-Azhar moderate approach in Pakistan.
