The Grand Imam receives new Egyptian Ambassador to Hungary and wishes him success in his mission
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received today, Sunday, at Al-Azhar headquarters Mr. Mohamed El-Shenawy, the new Egyptian Ambassador to Hungary. At the beginning of the meeting, the Grand Imam wished Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy success in his new mission and hoped he would contribute to strengthening relations between Egypt and Hungary. His Eminence stressed that Al-Azhar is open to cooperation with scientific and religious bodies in Hungary and to train Muslim imams to deal with contemporary issues such as positive integration into society, acceptance of others and combating extremism, and other issues that contribute to consolidating the values of tolerance and world peace.
For his part, Ambassador Muhammad Al- Shenawy expressed his pleasure to meet the Grand Imam, praising the great efforts made by Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif during the past period, which contributed to strengthening the dialogue among the followers of religions, stressing that he will work to support and strengthen these efforts that consolidate the values of tolerance and peace.
