Al-Azhar Grand Imam doubles grants for students of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received today Ambassador Siddik Spahic, Ambassador of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina, today, Tuesday, at Al-Azhar headquarters.
Al-Azhar Grand Imam and the Bosnian Ambassador discussed ways to enhance Al-Azhar’s educational and advocacy support for the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His Eminence decided to double the number of grants while facilitating procedures to enroll qualified students from Bosnia and Herzegovina who wish to study at Al-Azhar. The Grand Imam noted that Al-Azhar is pleased to bear its religious and scientific duty and responsibilities towards the various countries of the world, support the discourse of tolerance, and establish the principles of coexistence.
For his part, Ambassador Siddik Spahic expressed his thanks and appreciation to Al-Azhar Grand Imam for doubling grants, and for Al-Azhar's role and global message that has always been a destination for students of knowledge and moderation all over the world. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of raising the level of relations with Al-Azhar in the fields of education and advocacy and noted that Al-Azhar graduates occupy leading positions in Bosnia, being also responsible for advocacy matters. He also indicated his pleasure that this meeting is the first official meeting he has conducted in the Arabic language.
