Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received today, Thursday, at Al-Azhar headquarters, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Palestinian Chief Justice and Adviser to the Palestinian President for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations. The Grand Imam said that the Palestinian cause is the top cause of Al-Azhar and Muslims, and that the struggle of its Arab people stationed on our pure Arab land and the nation’s sanctities will remain a source of pride, glory and inspiration on how to struggle against the brutal occupier. On the other hand, Zionist terrorism will remain irrefutable evidence of the imbalance in the values and standards of the international community in dealing with peoples' issues.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, President of the brotherly Palestinian State, to the Grand Imam, wishing him continued health and wellness.

The Advisor to the Palestinian President stressed that Al-Azhar's ceaseless efforts and honorable stances towards the Palestinian cause will remain a matter of appreciation and gratitude, and that Al-Azhar has gained its universality from its message and its global role, which, for more than a thousand years, has served the nation's issues and global peace issues.
