The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar receives Bahraini Ambassador at Al-Azhar Headquarters.
Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received, on Monday at the headquarters of Al-Azhar, Ambassador Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Jowder, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Cairo. The Grand Imam pointed out that the relations between Al-Azhar and Bahrain are characterized by depth and durability, expressing appreciation for the role played by the Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in serving the causes of the Arab Muslim nation. He explained that Al-Azhar's moderate approach is based on openness to the other, in addition to closing the doors in the face of the advocates of strife and promoters of sedition among the citizens of the same country, stressing that maintaining integrity and fraternity among the followers of different religions closes the door in the face of those who adopt extremist ideology and paves the way towards a healthy environment dominated by the spirit of brotherhood and humanity.
On his part, the Bahraini Ambassador expressed the great appreciation of the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Bahrain for Al-Azhar's leading role in establishing the tolerant Islamic principles and for the Grand Imam Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, who always seeks to consolidate the values of peace and enhance the culture of tolerance, brotherhood and coexistence among different countries and peoples.
