The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Salem Al-Zamanan, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt, on the end of his tenure in Cairo. The Grand Imam welcomed Mr. Al-Zamanan to Al-Azhar Headquarters, applauding his considerable and fruitful efforts during his tenure in Egypt and wishing him success in his next post. His Eminence stressed the deep historical relations between Al-Azhar and the sisterly State of Kuwait, expressing his appreciation of the humanitarian stances of His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, his efforts in supporting the Arab fellow brothers, and his role in preserving the unity and stability of the Muslim nation. 

For his part, Ambassador Al- Zamanan expressed Kuwait’s appreciation of Al-Azhar’s prominent role in establishing the values of peace and the moderation of Islam among the different countries and peoples. He also expressed his appreciation of the noble personality of the Grand Imam, who is respected and appreciated by Kuwaiti government and people, praising the Grand Imam’s two visits to Indonesia and Germany.
