We are keen to strengthen scholarly cooperation with Moscow—Grand Imam
Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received, on Saturday at the headquarters of Al-Azhar, Ambassador Nazih Al-Najari, Egypt's new Ambassador to Moscow. At the beginning of the meeting, the Grand Imam welcomed Egypt's new Ambassador to Moscow, wishing him success in his new work. HE stressed Al-Azhar's keenness to strengthen its scholarly relations with Russia and communicate effectively with the Muslim communities there to know their needs and provide them with the necessary support through granting scholarships to students or hosting Imams (religious leaders) at Al-Azhar International Academy to train them on boosting the culture of tolerance and moderation among the Muslim communities abroad.
On his part, Egypt's new Ambassador to Moscow expressed his great appreciation for the role played by the Grand Imam in serving Islamic causes and Muslims around the world, stressing that he would work on strengthening scholarly and cultural relationships between Al-Azhar and Moscow and to highlight Al-Azhar's efforts in the field of interreligious dialogue, promoting the concepts of tolerance and peace globally.
