His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received the Sudanese Minister of Culture, At-Tayyeb Hassan Badawi, during the latter’s visit to Cairo. The Grand Imam welcomed the Sudanese Minister to the Headquarters of Al-Azhar, stressing that the relations between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples is of manifest uniqueness and deep history. He added that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif is keen to provide full support to the Sudanese brothers and sisters in all missionary and education fields. The Sudanese Minister, in turn, invited Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif to participate in related events, as it plays a major role in promoting Islamic culture in the Sudan, particularly in Sennar state. He also noted that Sennar religious scholars received their religious education at Al-Azhar through the Sennar Ruwaq classes. At the conclusion of the visit, His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed Al-Azhar's participation in this significant event.
