His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received a UAE delegation headed by Sheikha Kholoud Al Qasimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Oversight at the UAE Ministry of Education. The Grand Imam said that the UAE is witnessing an important experience in the field of education, culture and thought. He praised the UAE’s achievement in this field, which reflects the awareness of its leaders and their belief in the importance of forming a new generation armed with science and knowledge. 

For her part, Sheikha Kholoud Al Qasimi stated that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif’s curricula, which are based on intellectual pluralism and respect of the difference in opinion, represent the core and crux of Islam and its tolerant reality that goes against radicalism and extremism and that promotes tolerance and coexistence. She also praised the enlightened thought of the Grand Imam and his efforts to develop educational curricula at the various educational levels. Likewise, she appreciated His Eminence’s constant support to the UAE Ministry of Education and his external efforts to consolidate the culture of peace and to mainstream tolerance and love. These efforts, she added, are reflected in the Grand Imam’s trips to different world countries and the international conferences organized by Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif to consolidate the concepts of peace and citizenship, as well as Al-Azhar’s support for the nation’s causes and defense of its sanctities.
