His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb received Sheikh Farid Asad Emadi, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf, accompanied by Dr. Ismail Al-Kandari, Head of the Cairo-based Kuwaiti office for Charity Projects. The Grand Imam stated that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif supports all sincere Arab efforts to confront extremist thought, providing academic and missionary support to clarify the truth of the tolerant Islam as reflected in Al-Azhar’s approach. He also expressed his appreciation for the role of the sisterly Kuwait in supporting Arab and Islamic causes. For his part, Sheikh Emadi and his accompanying delegation expressed their admiration for the great achievements of Al-Azhar in confronting extremism, which contributed to correcting the false image of Islam promoted by terrorist organizations. They then indicated Kuwait's aspiration to benefit from the efforts of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif in this field, and from the experience of Al-Azhar Observatory in confronting extremism, given the Observatory’s achievements that attracted worldly attention.
