The Grand Imam receives the Minister of Health and witnesses the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Health and Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif
At the Headquarters of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received Prof. Ahmed Imad El-Din Radi, Egyptian Minister of Health. At the beginning of the meeting, the Grand Imam welcomed Dr. Radi to Al-Azhar Headquarters, indicating that the health file comes at the fore of the Egyptian people’s priorities. Therefore, the Grand Imam noted that Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, through its university hospitals or medical convoys that move across the various governorates, is trying to contribute to providing medical service to the citizens. HE praised the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Health in this regard. The Grand Imam also referred to that the great success achieved by the national campaign to put an end to virus C, the case which was praised by many international institutions, especially that this success was the result of a collective work in which the Egyptian people participated through various institutions.
For his part, Prof. Radi applauded the efforts and initiatives of His Eminence the Grand Imam in support of various national and humanitarian causes. He asserted that the medical sector in Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif largely contributes to providing health services to citizens, especially the common and low-income people. He added that Al-Azhar medical convoys greatly alleviate the suffering of the inhabitants of remote and poor areas, and that Al-Azhar actively participates, through the Egyptian House of Zakat and Charities, in the national campaign to put an end to virus C.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a cooperation protocol was signed by Al-Azhar, represented by Prof. Abbas Shoman, Deputy of the Grand Imam, and the Ministry of Health, represented by Prof. Radi.
