Grand Imam returns to Cairo following his participation in the Arab Media Summit

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, departed the United Arab Emirates, returning to Egypt. His Eminence's departure followed his participation in the Arab Media Summit, hosted by Dubai from May 26 to 28. The visit came in response to an official invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
His Eminence the Grand Imam was seen off at Dubai International Airport by Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE's Minister of Foreign Trade; Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders; Mr. Hossam Hussein Ismail, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Dubai; and His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Abdel Aziz Al Haddad, member of the Muslim Council of Elders and Grand Mufti and head of the Fatwa Department at the Dubai Fatwa Centre.
During his visit to the UAE, the Grand Imam delivered the keynote address at the Arab Media Summit. He emphasized the role of the media in confronting contemporary challenges, calling on journalists and media professionals to preserve the truth, defend the nation's causes, confront Islamophobia, foster awareness and a sense of belonging among young people, and protect them from falling prey to destructive digital platforms.
