Grand Imam receives a phone call from the Sudanese President
His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received a phone call from General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the brotherly State of Sudan. The two sides addressed the longstanding bonds between Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, the role of Al-Azhar in disseminating sound Islamic knowledge and sustaining the bonds of fraternity between the two peoples. The discussion also touched on key issues on Arab and Muslim scenes, stressing the need for solidarity and collaboration between the two brotherly countries, Egypt and Sudan, in face of rearing threats, knowing that each country is an extension of the other. At the end of the call, His Eminence the Grand Imam sent his sincere greetings and appreciation to General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan and to the brotherly Sudanese people, praying to Allah Almighty to grant Sudan security and safety, to bless the Sudanese with peace and stability, and to spare our countries harms and evils.
