Grand Imam and the King of Jordan discuss the situation in occupied Jerusalem

Today, Wednesday, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb made a phone call to HM King Abdullah II, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to discuss the situation in occupied Jerusalem. During the call, the Grand Imam expressed condemnation of Zionist violations against innocent Palestinians, and denunciation of the demolition of Palestinian homes in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the attack on and their unlawful arrest of innocent Palestinian homeowners. He also expressed his appreciation of HM King Abdullah’s efforts in serving the Palestinian cause and supporting the causes of the Arab and Muslim countries.
For his part, King Abdullah stressed that Jordan continues to play its historic role in protecting Islamic and Christian sanctuaries in Jerusalem, and the need to stop violations against the Palestinians, the case which undermines the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
