Grand Imam of Al-Azhar greets the Muslim nation on the anniversary of ˀIsrāˀ (Night Journey) and Miˁrāj (Ascension)
Today, Monday, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb greeted Muslims around the world and all Islamic nations on the ˀIsrāˀ (Night Journey) and Miˁrāj (Ascension) anniversary. HE affirmed that this divine miracle is specifically granted to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as a solace for him and a token of his elevated status. In a statement posted on his official Facebook and Twitter accounts, the Grand Imam noted, “Many happy returns to the Muslim nation on the anniversary of the ˀIsrāˀ (Night Journey) and Miˁrāj (Ascension), that divine miracle specifically granted to our Prophet by Allah, to sustain, comfort, uplift and honor him (pbuh) among the entire humanity, past and present. Through it, Allah elevated him (pbuh) and granted him and his nation, at the conclusion of the Miˁrāj (Ascension) journey the blessed obligation of prayer and a constant link to the Almighty (Exalted be He).”
