Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, first tweeted in Ukrainian calling on the international community to double its humanitarian aid to Ukraine and exert further efforts to put an end to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. His Eminence wrote on his official account on Facebook and Twitter, "What we are witnessing of terrorizing safe Ukrainians and driving them out of their homes in search for peace and security is a real test for our humanity. Therefore, I call upon the international community to double the humanitarian aids to Ukraine and to exert more effort to put an end to this war. I hope this to take place soon, Allah’s willing, so as those innocent people may soon return to their homes safely. At the beginning of the crisis, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif called upon both Russia and Ukraine to listen to the voice of reason as he called upon world leaders and international organizations to help finding peaceful solutions to end the conflict between the two neighbouring countries, stressing the fact that wars would never bring but more destruction and hatred to our world and that conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue.
