The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar addressing the Ambassador of Uzbekistan: We are proud of our well-established scholarly and missionary relations with the State of Uzbekistan
Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif received, on Thursday morning at the Headquarters of Al-Azhar, Ambassador Mansour Bek Kilichev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Cairo, to discuss ways of boosting joint cooperation between Al-Azhar and Uzbekistan. The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar is proud of its well-established scholarly and missionary relations with the State of Uzbekistan. HE attributed this to the great appreciation this Islamic country has showed for the value of religious knowledge and religious scholars and to the great interest it takes in preserving the Islamic heritage, stressing his keenness on enhancing cooperation with scholarly and missionary institutions in the State of Uzbekistan to achieve mutual benefits. On his part, Ambassador Mansour Bek Kilichev expressed a great appreciation of the State of Uzbekistan for the Grand Imam and his prominent role in promoting the values of peace, tolerance and dialogue around the world, stressing his happiness with the progress achieved at the level of exchanging scholarly relations with Al-Azhar and his country's constant keenness on benefiting from Al-Azhar's scholarly and missionary experiences.
