Today, Wednesday, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, Prof. Dr. Ahmad At-Tayeb congratulated the AY 2019-2020 Al-Azhar top-ranking High School students over the phone, including the different divisions (science, literature, and Islamic studies) at the country level. During his contact with the top students, the Grand Imam praised their excellence and the efforts they made to reach this level, wishing them and all other students a promising and bright future in the service of their religion and their country. He also advised them to keep up their excellent and distinguished work, and not slacken in seeking knowledge and winning top positions, and to keep the company of scholars. In this way, the Grand Imam added, they will contribute to achieving goodness and peace for all and enhance the status of this nation. The Grand Imam also thanked the top students’ parents for their efforts in taking care of their children and preparing a suitable environment for them to keep up their excellence, despite this year’s spread of the Covid-19 epidemic and its negative repercussions on societies. He then stressed that raising and educating children is the best investment, so that they may contribute to building the future of this country and sustain its civilization and progress. His Eminence also congratulated Al-Azhar top secondary school students through his personal accounts on Facebook and Twitter, saying, “Congratulations to my sons and daughters, the top students at Al-Azhar Secondary Certificate exams, on their honorable success, and I wish them and all other students more excellence. My advice to the students of our Arab and Muslim nation is that they should keep educational success as their goal, and to persevere and exert all possible efforts, and seek refuge in knowledge, as it is the way to progress and advancement of the nations.”

His Eminence Sheikh Saleh Abbas, Deputy of the Grand Imam, is scheduled to hold a press conference at the Headquarters of Al-Azhar tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, at 2:00 pm, to announce the results of the Al-Azhar secondary Certificate exams in its different divisions. The top students’ list for this academic year goes as follows:

- Abdullah Waleed As-Sayed Abdullah Ibrahim, first place (Islamic Sciences division), 97.91%.

- Rehab Khaled Othman Abbas, first place (literature division – unsighted), 95.08%.

- Amani Atef Abdur-Raouf Ash-Shaˁrawy, first place (literature division), 99.21%.

- Ahmad Medhat Mustafa Ahmed, first place (science division), 100.00%.

- Alaa Ragab Hamid Sobh, repeated first place (science division), 100.00%.

- Nada Muhammad Hamid Farhat, repeted first place (science division), 100.00%.
