Prof Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, extended sincere greetings to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic of Egypt and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the Armed Forces, its leaders, officers and soldiers, and to all the Egyptian people on the 50th anniversary of the October War Victory.

The Grand Imam asserted that the October War has been one of the greatest epic battles in the history of Egypt and the Arab world, with its embodied heroism and sacrifices of our brave armed forces and the great Egyptians in defending our homeland and preserving its rights and dignity. Such chivalry will remain a witness to the courage of the Egyptian army, and evidence that Egyptian soldiers have always been the protective shield and firm guard that has protected it throughout its history against invaders and aggressors. On this occasion, the Grand Imam called on all Egyptians to seek inspiration through the notions manifested in that victory, including perseverance, determination, and hard work to build our nation and achieve its renaissance. He added that this great victory should be an incentive for the Egyptians to exert all possible efforts for the advancement of our beloved Egypt, and to contribute to its development, asking Allah Almighty to show mercy on our honorable and brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend their homeland, and to protect Egypt, its army and its people from all sorts of harm. He asked Almighty Allah that such a pleasant occasion return to our precious Egypt with more progress, prosperity, security and stability.
