Today, Saturday, at the Headquarters of Al-Azhar, H.E Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, received Dr. Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al-Dulaimi, Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo. Dr. Al-Dulaimi briefed the Grand Imam on the recent developments in Iraq and the ongoing arrangements by the Iraqi embassy to coordinate the Grand Imam’s upcoming visit to Iraq. Dr. Al-Dulaimi confirmed to the Grand Imam that all Iraqis are eagerly awaiting the visit and that the Iraqi Prime Minister is paying great attention to it. He noted that the Iraqi embassy in Cairo has formed a team to follow up on the details of the visit and on the arrangements made with the Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif round the clock.

For his part, the Grand Imam confirmed his aspiration to visit Iraq next January, stressing that this visit involves much affection and love for the Iraqi people and that the main focus of this visit will be boosting understanding and alignment among the Islamic schools of thought, and reuniting the nation.
