Today, Monday, at the Headquarters of Al-Azhar, H.E Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, received Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to discuss ways to boost cooperation in supporting joint academic projects. The Grand Imam stressed the openness of Al-Azhar University to cooperation with various Egyptian, regional and international universities, in a way that serves the dissemination of Al-Azhar’s message and its moderate approach. He also noted that Al-Azhar opens its doors to students from different world countries and offers free scholarships to all, maintaining that foreign students at Al-Azhar form ambassadors for Al-Azhar in their countries after their graduation.

For his part, Dr. Ashour expressed his pleasure in meeting with the Grand Imam and his appreciation for his great efforts. He also applauded the efforts made to strengthen joint cooperation between Al-Azhar University and various Egyptian universities, the launch of joint initiatives that aim at raising students’ performance and develop their innovative and creative skills.
