The largest EZCH aid convoy arrives at the Rafah Border Land Port
40 EZCH trucks arrive at the Rafah Border Land Port as part of the “Long Live Egypt” aid convoy that arrived at the Rafah Land Port on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders. The EZCH convoy is arranged under the directives of H.E. Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the EZCH Board of Trustees. The 40 trucks of the convoy are loaded with medicine, food and relief materials, shelter and living supplies. This convoy is scheduled to cross to the Palestinian side as part of an EZCH’s co-organized convey with the Long Live Egypt Fund under the slogan “We Participate for the Sake of Humanity,” which was launched by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister this morning, in implementation of the directives of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. It is the second EZCH convoy to be dispatched under the directives of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, to our brotherly people in Gaza under the “Help Gaza” campaign. This campaign was initiated by the EZCH since the beginning of the occupation’s aggression against our brotherly people in the Gaza Strip. It is motivated by the religious and legal duty and the humanitarian and moral commitment towards our brotherly people in Gaza. It also aims to support them in the light of the humanitarian tragedy and stifling siege they are undergoing.
The first convoy was launched late last month, containing 18 trucks loaded with medicine, and medical, food, and relief materials. Two weeks later, Al-Azhar scheduled the second largest convoy, which contained 40 trucks loaded with relief, medical, food, shelter and living supplies. It comes in light of the continuous support offered by the Arab Republic of Egypt and based on its historical role in support for our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
It is worth noting that the EZCH was established in 2014 at the initiative of HE Prof. At-Tayyeb, and under his supervision, with the aim of disbursing Zakat funds through their legitimate channels, developing and disbursing charity funds, donations, bequests and charitable aid through charitable works, and raising awareness of the obligation of Zakat and its role in developing society and disseminating the spirit of solidarity and compassion among society members.
