Al-Azhar mourns loss of five students in car crash in Assiut
H.E. Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif mourned five students, at the private Nour Al-Islam Azharite Institute, in Assiut Governorate, who died in a car crash when they were on their way to the institute this Saturday morning. The Grand Imam expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of “our students who died in this painful accident, praying to the Lord Almighty to comfort the hearts of their parents, to grant their families and loved ones patience and solace, to grant the injured a speedy recovery and to shower them with health and wellness; “We belong to Allah and unto Him we shall return.”
Upon the directives of the Grand Imam, a high-level delegation headed for Assiut, led by Dr. Ahmad Ash-Sharqawi, Undersecretary of the Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, Sheikh Ali Abdel Hafez, Head of the Assiut Al-Azhar Region, Sheikh Hamid Abu Arida, Director General of Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, and a number of Al-Azhar preachers and teachers, to attend funeral ceremonies and to offer condolences and show support to the families of the students in their affliction.
