• Salute to the women of the world who help their families and communities to rise and stand firm in the face of challenges
• I call on everyone to do more to empower women and criminalize exposing them to any violence, injustice, or marginalization • There should be guarantees for women access to their full rights without any discrimination. The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, celebrated the International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 each year, through a post published on his official Facebook and Twitter pages, in solidarity with all women of the world, calling for the criminalization of exposing them to any violence or injustice. His Eminence wrote, “Salute to all the women of the world who help their families and communities to rise, progress, and stand firm in the face of challenges. I say to them, ‘Thanks for all that you have done,’ and I call on everyone to do more to enable women to work and participate in public life, and to criminalize exposing them to any violence, injustice or marginalization, and to ensure that they have access to their full rights without any discrimination.’”
