Al-Azhar Grand Imam in memory of Isra and Mi’raj: Allah honored Al-Aqsa Mosque by choosing it as the confluence of Isra and Mi’raj

 

His Eminence Al-Azhar Grand Imam Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, extends his sincere congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and to the masses of Muslims around the world on the occasion of the Isra and Mi'raj anniversary.

 

Al-Azhar Grand Imam confirms that the Almighty has honored the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by choosing it as the confluence of the journey of the Isra with the journey of Mi'raj. It is the Mosque to which the Prophet (pbuh) was carried by night, from which he (pbuh) ascended to Heaven, and in whose sanctuary he (pbuh) led the Prophets in prayer as Imam. His Eminence added that in the precincts of this blessed place of the land of Palestine, the people of faith face the barbaric aggressions of the occupier with patience and steadfastness, and they revive in the entire nation its connection with Al-Aqsa, the destination of the Prophet’s Isra journey, and his rights over the Muslim nation. The Grand Imam called on Allah Almighty in this honorable anniversary to help and support the vulnerable and patriots of Jerusalem and its precincts.

 

Al-Azhar Grand Imam points out that the journey of "Isra and Mi’raj" is a divine miracle with which Allah singled out and honored His Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It aimed to confirm Muhammad’s prophethood, alleviate his anguish and sadness, and relieve his suffering from the stubbornness of his people and harm of his closest relatives, so the miracle of Isra and Mi’raj came as a divine grant, and a miraculous exception to the laws of nature, announcing to all creation the status of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
