The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, received the brilliant Palestinian child Saja Saeed Khalla in his office at the headquarters of Al-Azhar, in response to her and her family’s wish to meet him. Despite her blindness, the 11-year-old child had memorized of the Glorious Qur’an in full at the age of seven. Her father helped her memorize the (rhymed grammar book) ˀAlfiyyah, the famous Ten Mu’allaqat poems, as well as some other texts, collections in Arabic linguistics, literature and inheritance disciplines, drawing on her firm determination and exceptional memory. The Grand Imam recommended the Palestinian girl to keep up her diligence and perseverance in seeking knowledge, pointing out that she represents a role model and an honorable example for students in the sisterly State of Palestine, stressing that knowledge is the nations’ sure way to progress and stability.
