His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received today, Wednesday, at Al-Azhar, Dr. Shawky Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, who congratulated His Eminence on the results of the visit to Southeast Asia.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Allam expressed his sincere congratulations to the Grand Imam, on his safe return from his successful tour to Southeast Asia, which included Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. He stressed that this visit reflected the great celebration of Al-Azhar and its Grand Imam globally, and that Al-Azhar, which is a reference for all Muslims around the world, is a great scientific and religious edifice. He stressed that this tour was a successful journey with which Allah benefited the Islamic nation and showed that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is the leading Islamic institution around the world, and confirmed the sincere love and great position of the Grand Imam in the Islamic world.

 

His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed the Grand Mufti to Al-Azhar, expressing his sincere prayers that Dar Al-Iftaa Conference would be crowned with success. He stressed Al-Azhar's keenness to support the efforts of religious institutions in Egypt, to achieve the security, stability and progress of the nation, as well as to support the efforts of religious institutions and Islamic centers around the world, in a way that contributes to spreading the tolerant message of Islam and promoting moderation and balance.

 

Dr. Allam extended an invitation to His Eminence the Grand Imam to attend and open Dar Al-Iftaa Conference, which is held under the title “Fatwa and Moral Development in a Fast-Growing World,” on July 29-30.
