We seek to benefit from Al-Azhar's expertise in the fields of spreading the values of peace and rejecting violence and hatred, Al-Jarwan

 

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received Mr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, former Speaker of the Arab Parliament, and President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, today, Monday, at Al-Azhar headquarters.

 

During the meeting, Mr. Al Jarwan affirmed his appreciation for the great and pivotal role played by His Eminence the Grand Imam and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading the values of peace and brotherhood. He stressed that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace is keen to fully coordinate with Al-Azhar and benefit from its great expertise as the leading global institution in promoting the values of world peace and rejecting hatred and extremism. The council is ready to work in light of the directives of His Eminence to spread the values of brotherhood and human coexistence.

 

His Eminence welcomed Mr. Al Jarwan, stressing the importance of permanent and continuous coordination between institutions with common goals to confront the humanitarian and environmental crises that the world is suffering from today, based on the joint responsibility that each party assumes.
