His Eminence the Grand Imam (GI) of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, performed the funeral prayer for the wife of the great scholar, Prof. Hassan El-Shafei, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars at Al-Azhar, and President of the Arab Language Academies, today, Monday, at Al-Azhar Mosque, after Al-Asr prayer.

 

The Grand Imam offered his sincere condolences to Dr. Hassan Al-Shafei, asking Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy upon the deceased and to grant her a place in His Paradise.

 

Dr. Al-Shafei expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the Grand Imam for attending the funeral prayer, and his keenness to support him in his great loss, asking Allah Almighty to grant him continued health.

 

The funeral prayer was attended by Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwayni, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Abbas Shoman, Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars at Al-Azhar, Dr. Shawqy Allam, former Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Nasr Farid Wasil, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Sheikh Ayman Abdel-Ghani, Head of Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, and a group of Al-Azhar leaders.
