Al-Azhar is keen to spread the Arabic language, being the language of the Holy Quran and a link between Africa and the Arab world. He pointed out that Al-Azhar is ready to provide the peoples of the African continent with Arabic language teaching centers, and enhance their capabilities in confronting the Western cultural invasion, which does not only aim to invade them culturally and intellectually, but also aims to seize their wealth and resources, and deliberately keeps these countries impoverished in order to control the resources of the continent.
For his part, Dr. Fadlallah expressed his happiness for meeting the Grand Imam and his appreciation for his efforts to support the causes of Muslims around the world. He stressed that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is the starting point from which all efforts to spread the Arabic language in all parts of the world emerged, and that all those interested in preserving the Arabic language and those interested in spreading it have their support connected to Al-Azhar. He added that the Council seeks to benefit from Al-Azhar’s great expertise in the fields of preserving the sciences of the Arabic language, and to work under its leadership and supervision in a number of related initiatives and projects.
