Accepting Allah’s will, Al-Azhar Grand Imam (GI), Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, mourned Ambassador Nabil Elaraby, former Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Secretary-General of the Arab League, who passed away today.  Ambassador El-Araby was the ideal model of Egyptian diplomacy; he defended Egypt’s rights and strengthened its position on the international scene.

 

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar offers his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the deceased's honorable family and all members of Egyptian diplomacy, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow His vast mercy and forgiveness upon him, and to grant his family and relatives patience and solace: “To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.”
