The Grand Imam renews appreciation to Thailand for warm welcome during his recent tour of Southeast Asia

During his reception of the Chargé d'Affaires of the Thai Embassy in Cairo, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong, today, Monday, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received from His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, King of Thailand, his wife, Her Majesty Queen Suthida, and all the official and popular institutions that His Eminence visited during his visit to the Kingdom of Thailand as part of a foreign tour of Southeast Asia. He stressed that this visit will have a great impact in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and Al-Azhar.

Mr. Thanabordee Joothong affirmed his country's gratitude for the great efforts made by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to sponsor more than 2,800 Thai students at Al-azhar, and to allocate 160 scholarships for the children of Muslims in Thailand. He pointed out that the visit of His Eminence to Thailand had a great positive impact and was welcomed by the Thai Kingdom and the Thai people, and contributed to opening new horizons for cooperation with Al-Azhar on various educational and dawah levels.
