Al-Azhar  Grand Imam (GI), Prof. Ahmad al-Tayyeb, received Ambassador Ihab Abu Sarea, the new Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Ambassador Imad Hanna, the new Egyptian Ambassador to the Netherlands.

 

His Eminence the Grand Imam congratulated both Ambassadors on assuming the duties of representing Egypt abroad, wishing them success and guidance, and recommending that the two Ambassadors pay attention to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, as one of the most prominent tools of soft power for Egypt. He stressed that Al-Azhar is fully prepared to provide support, by providing training programs for imams and preachers through the Al-Azhar Academy for Training Imams and Preachers, to train them in the latest methods of refuting extremist ideas.

 

The two Ambassadors expressed their happiness for visiting the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and their appreciation for the great efforts of his Eminence to promote the moderation of Islam in Egypt and the world, promote the values of dialogue and tolerance, and introduce the truth of Islam globally. They expressed their readiness to make all the efforts required to help achieve the message of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
