Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, continues to present his program Grand Imam At-Tayyeb Talk, for the fifth year, during the blessed month of Ramadan. The program deals with topics related to characteristics of Islam, the meaning of moderation of Islam, the manifestations of this moderation, the rules of religious obligations and the purpose of minimizing them. It explains the ease of Islamic law (Sharia), the vast space between what is permissible and what is forbidden, and the reason why the Sharia left it as such. The program touches on the sources of Islamic legislation, and counters the fallacies about the Prophet’s Sunnah and heritage. 

In the first episode of the program, the Grand Imam clarifies the purpose of the episodes of his Ramadan Talk this year and limits it to two objectives. The first is that a Muslim consolidates his knowledge that the principles of the religion he embraces achieves - theoretically and practically - the happiness of the individual and the happiness of society, in this world and the Hereafter. Second, it helps non-Muslims, who watch these episodes, be convinced that Islam is not a religion of bloodshed, wars and restrictions imposed on its adherents as portrayed by its enemies. On the contrary, it is a religion of peace, cooperation, tolerance and mercy mutually exchanged among people, and even between people and animals. Like all previous divine religions, which were sent as mercy for the creation, Islam lifts man out of the mire of misguidance, and guides him to the best path, whenever the paths fork in front of him, lest he should get lost or deviate from the right path. 

Grand Imam At-Tayyeb Talk is scheduled to be broadcast on several channels, radio stations and websites in Egypt and the Arab and Muslim countries, in addition to the official page of the Grand Imam on Facebook and Twitter, his official YouTube channel, and the official pages of Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif on social networking sites. Over the past years, the program has contributed to creating a state of intellectual and societal debate about the issues addressed by His Eminence, providing a space for exchanging views on the program’s issues through the media. His Eminence was also keen to correct many misconceptions. The program received institutional, academic and societal attention, and was shown by Egyptian and Arab channels.
