With greater contentment with Allah’s decree and destiny, Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, mourns the renowned journalist Makram Muhammad Ahmad, former head of the Supreme Media Council, who passed away today, Thursday. The Grand Imam confirms that the deceased introduced major contributions to the service of the Egyptian and Arab press, which placed him in the ranks of the great writers and thinkers who enriched the intellectual and journalistic life in Egypt. His Eminence the Grand Imam extended his sincere condolences to all writers, thinkers, the journalism community, the family of the dear deceased and all his fans, praying to the Almighty Allah to bless him with His infinite mercy and forgiveness:

“Surely, we belong to Allah, and surely to Him we are returning.”
