In the sixth episode of his Ramadan program Grand Imam At-Tayyeb Talk Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, completed refers to what was presented in the past five episodes, highlighting the manifestations of the moderation of Islam, in doctrine and Sharia, in some detail while presenting, discussing, and responding to objections.
The Grand Imam began his talk by explaining the Sharia of Islam or the legislation of the Noble Qur’an, pointing out that they are two synonymous names with the same denotation. It is the Sharia with which the Noble Qur’an was revealed; and it should be remembered from the beginning that the Sharia of the Qur’an is one thing, and the jurisprudence, opinion and variety of opinions that have arisen from its contemplation is another thing.
His Eminence said the crystal clear statements show us that the essence and core of the Islamic Sharia is ease and tolerance, removing all embarrassment and hardship, as expressly stipulated in the Holy Qur’an and the pure Sunnah. Therefore, it is obligatory for all of these people, who deal with any of the Sharia matters, to take into account this essential principle. They should know that the matter is not left to some preachers, who feel the ecstasy of stressing people and intimidating them, using this way as a fixed approach in their sermons, exhortations and fatwas, thinking that by doing so they would bring people closer to Allah, the Most High, and return them to His religion and His Sharia.
Al-Azhar Grand Imam also clarified that some preachers limp on one leg, the leg of intimidation, and do not make use of the other leg, the leg of persuasion for what is with Allah of good reward and eternal bliss. The Prophet (pbuh) described this approach as a method of sedition, and he described its advocates as “seducers.” The meaning of sedition is to deter people from carrying out the religious obligations, and drive them to flee from worship because of what these seducers are committing in the religion of Allah.
The program Grand Imam At-Tayyeb Talk is broadcast on a number of channels in Egypt and the Arab world, in addition to the official page of the Grand Imam on Facebook, his official channel on YouTube, and official pages of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on social media.
