Victims of Toukh train accident to receive urgent aid, Al-Azhar Grand Imam

Today, Monday, His Eminence, the Grand Imam, Professor Ahmad At-Tayyeb, directed urgent measures to be taken in order to hand over the amount of 50 thousand Egyptian pounds to the family of each of the victims, and from 15 to 30 thousand for injured, in the Toukh train accident which occurred yesterday, Sunday. The accident took place when the 949 Cairo-Mansoura train derailed near Toukh station in Qalyubia Governorate. The Grand Imam offered his sincere condolences to the Egyptian people and the families of the victims of the train accident, and said in a post on his official pages on the social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter:
With a heart wracked by sadness and pain, but with contentment with the decree of Allah, I offer my condolences to myself, to the Egyptian people, and to the families of the victims of the Toukh train accident. I pray to Allah Almighty to bless the victims with His infinite mercy and forgiveness and grant the injured a speedy recovery. 
“Surely, we belong to Allah, and surely to Him we are returning.”
Dr. Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi, Rector of Al-Azhar University, announced the university's readiness to provide all possible means of support to serve the victims of the train accident, through the readiness of Al-Azhar University hospitals to receive the injured, providing medical staff specialized in the fields of emergency medicine.
