Al-Azhar Grand Imam: Targeting Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis reveals catastrophic hatred and the Zionists' lack of compassion and humanity.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Pope Tawadros II affirm their rejection of all attempts to displace the Palestinian people from Gaza.

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb received today, Monday, at Al-Azhar HQ, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church, who came to offer greetings on Eid al-Fitr.

At the beginning of the meeting, Pope Tawadros II congratulated the Grand Imam and all Muslims on the approaching Eid al-Fitr, wishing that these happy occasions would return to our beloved Egypt—both its Muslims and Christians—with goodness, security, safety, peace, and love.

The Grand Imam expressed his appreciation for this precious visit by His Holiness and his accompanying delegation, which carries much affection and love. He emphasized that such visits are an opportunity to demonstrate brotherhood and coexistence and reflect the good relationship between Egyptians, both Muslims and Christians.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Pope Tawadros II discussed contemporary crises, foremost among which is the aggression on Gaza. His Eminence emphasized that the current situation is difficult and complex, especially after the Zionists' violation of the ceasefire agreement, and after yesterday's terrorist attack on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis. He emphasized that the brutal way these crimes are being carried out reveals that the issue is not merely a war or the killing of innocents, but rather deep hatred expressed in these massacres, which prove that the perpetrators are devoid of all sense of mercy and humanity.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Pope Tawadros II condemned the international silence that has allowed this entity to continue killing innocents. They affirmed their complete rejection of all schemes aimed at displacing Palestinians from their homeland, and their appreciation for the Egyptian and Arab stances supporting the Palestinians' steadfastness in their homeland.

The discussion also touched on social issues and the cultural invasion targeting the youth and young adults through social media, through which foreign ideas penetrate from abroad, reaching our homes and children's minds without oversight. They also emphasized the importance and role of purposeful media in instilling feelings of pride in identity, its role in disseminating values and morals, and creating role models. They also emphasized the danger of imitating imported Western ideas and introducing them into our societies. They warned that the absence of purposeful media and drama content that Egyptian families can trust their children to watch is a warning bell, and that efforts must be made to redirect the compass back in the right direction, in line with our values, morals, and intellectual and cultural heritage.
