Al-Azhar is our religious, spiritual, and moral authority, Crown Prince of Fujairah

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, received today, Wednesday, at Al-Azhar Headquarters, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed the Crown Prince of Fujairah and his accompanying delegation to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, emphasizing the deep ties that bind Al-Azhar to the UAE under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Emirate of Fujairah to spread the Arabic language and enhance authentic Arabic arts, such as calligraphy, poetry, and other arts.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Sharqi affirmed his honor and pleasure at meeting His Eminence the Grand Imam, and his appreciation for his great efforts in spreading the true religion, promoting the culture of tolerance, human brotherhood, and dialogue, and establishing positive coexistence among all. He stated: “We always look forward to your pioneering role in spreading global peace, and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is our primary authority, religiously, morally, and spiritually. You are held in high esteem by the UAE, its leadership and people.”

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and the Crown Prince of Fujairah discussed ways to preserve the family system, which has become threatened and surrounded by risks as a result of the cultural invasion and the unrestricted and irresponsible openness that has emerged as a resistance movement to isolationism. The Grand Imam affirmed that hope lies with the youth, emphasizing the need to empower them, invest in their energies, and prepare them for leadership, playing a pivotal role in the peacemaking process and building bridges between East and West, in a way that preserves our identity and authenticity.
