The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Professor Ahmad At-Tayyeb, had concluded an external tour that included Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Italy, which all aimed at building more bridges of peace and dialogue across the world, and emphasizing Al-Azhar’s global message in clarifying the truth of Islam, its tolerant teachings and its noble Sharia. And on his way back home, he knew that Hajar Sayed Muhammad, a student at the Faculty of Commerce for Girls, Al-Azhar University (Tafahna Al-Ashraf Branch), had been in a train accident while she was on her way to her college in Tafahna Al-Ashraf, Dakahlia Governorate. As a result of the accident, she lost her left leg and the right leg metatarsus. The Grand Imam then contacted the student and her mother, to check on the student’s health condition, consoled them and assured them that Al-Azhar will cover all the expenses of her medical treatment. This includes paying for the prosthetic device.
This measurement had a great positive impact on the psychological state of the student and on her family, as she did not expect the Grand Imam At-Tayyeb’s call.
On another note, a large number of students and social media influencers appreciated this noble humanitarian gesture from the Grand Imam, praising his virtue and his keenness to follow up on Al-Azhar University students, and to provide them with the best medical treatment possible.
