The Grand Imam visits the Bataclan Theater and meets French President Hollande
This visit coincided with a tense security atmosphere that prevailed in Europe in the wake of a number of terrorist attacks. It was thus meant to calm the situation in the Western world, defend the image of Islam, and show its tolerant reality, which calls for coexistence and peace, not violence and terrorism. During the visit, His Eminence the Grand Imam delivered a speech to the European peoples and Muslims around the world to show them the true image of Islam.
The Grand Imam also met French President François Hollande, receiving high appreciation. His Eminence visited the Bataclan Theater in Paris, sending a message of peace and solidarity with the victims of terrorism in France and the world. In Paris, too, the Grand Imam inaugurated the second round of dialogue between the Elders of the East and the West and met the President of the French National Assembly and the President of the French Senate to discuss efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, and examine the mechanisms for integration of French Muslims into their society.
He also met the head of the French Christian Democratic Party, and a number of ambassadors of Arab and Muslim countries in Paris, as well as a delegation from the Egyptian community in France, urging them to positively integrate into their societies.
