This visit demonstrated the pivotal role of Al-Azhar on the international scene as a key solution that must be invested in confronting the extremist thought that took root in Europe and claimed the lives of many. His Eminence the Grand Imam delivered a global speech at Bundestag and largely resonated worldwide and entailed live discussions between the Grand Imam and German parliamentarians.

He also met a number of German ministers and officials, as well as the bishops of the Evangelical Church in Berlin. Moreover, he participated in the conference entitled, “The Elements of Peace in Religions”, held in Münster, and gave a press interview for the widespread Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, (German: “Frankfurt General Newspaper”).
